Executive Coaching engagements must begin with the coachee being challenged and supported to become crystal clear on what their vision of “great leadership” looks like for them. And then choosing the behaviors that best align with that vision.
We think of this process as Vision-based Coaching and we see it like this:
The research here is clear:
A coachee’s Strengths (Best Self) and Aspirational Goals (Ideal Self) are the strongest and most sustainable intrinsic motivators within the entire developmental process.
Once we confirm and prioritize those drivers, we gather Feedback from a range of key stakeholders on how the coachee is showing up (Real Self) in their current context.
Finally — based on the interplay between these three dimensions — we refine the coachee’s development goals and identify the enabling mindsets & skillsets aligned with those goals.
